About fostering

Foster carers provide a secure and loving home for children and teenagers who cannot live with their birth families. We are looking for carers who are resilient, committed and passionate about the positive difference they can make to the life of a child in their care.

Children might come into care for a number of reasons from abuse or neglect or due to having a disability or complex needs that their family cannot cope with. The one thing all these children and young people have in common is the need for care and support.

Being a foster carer can be challenging, but it is also very rewarding and by fostering with Newcastle City Council you will receive all the advice and support you need, every step of the way.

If you live in the North East of England within 50 miles of Newcastle and you'd like to become a foster carer, please get in touch with Foster with North East.

"I care about fostering because... I care about people. I choose to see Fostering as without conflict; without politicisation; without judgement- I see it simply as helping other people. I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to offer that"
- Dan (Foster carer)
