We understand when you first search for information about becoming a foster carer, there is a lot of choice. After being approved, you may consider the agency or authority you care for is no longer the best for you. While you cannot be a registered foster carer for more than one fostering service, you can transfer agencies.  

The process to transfer is straightforward. As an approved carer, you will still be offered all the same support and time as someone at the beginning of their fostering journey.  

While you’ll still undergo an assessment, this will be completed in a compressed timescale. We’ll work closely with your current fostering service to ensure the transition for yourself and any children you may be currently fostering is smooth and efficient.
