You need to advise us if you are buying a property which will remain unoccupied for sometime or you have bought a property to use as a second home.

If you are no longer the owner of an empty property or second home you need to advise us so that you are not charged unnecessary council tax.

If your property is newly built, it may not yet have been allocated a band by the Valuation Office (VO), part of HMRC. You can check this online by searching for your council tax band.
