Newcastle Fund

Grants of up to £50,000 to support major projects that benefit our residents or to run a Newcastle-based VCS organisation.

Overview

The Newcastle Fund is the council’s main grant giving programme for voluntary and community organisations, charities and social enterprises based in Newcastle. We provide funding for specific projects or for organisations’ core running costs. 

We aim to support residents to build sustainable community resources. To do this, we support projects which use the skills and knowledge of local people to:

  • build community resilience
  • improve individuals resilience
  • improve health and wellbeing 

Who can apply

To apply, you must be a not-for-profit organisation, such as a:

  • voluntary or community organisation 
  • registered charity
  • not-for-profit business (such as a community interest company or social enterprise) 

You must have an organisational bank account requiring at least two signatories

How much to apply for

You can apply for up to £50,000 per year

Small projects which are focused on specific neighbourhoods should consider applying for ward committee funding instead.
