Shared domestic waste and recycling

There are 4 types of shared bin which are all clearly labelled:

• Household waste
  • This bin is for materials that belong in green bins, including black bags.
• Recycling
  • This bin is for materials that go in the main part of blue bins.
  • Items should be loose, dry recycling materials.

Shared recycling bins have metal plates to prevent people from forcing black bags inside. You should not force open the main part of the lid, instead use the smaller blue lid to deposit loose recycling.

If you bring your recycling in plastic bags, please dispose of the bags in the household waste bin after you recycle the items.

We will only collect recycling and waste if it is in the appropriate container. Any rubbish left outside a bin could leave the person who left the waste out liable to prosecution.

We request that all residents behave in a responsible and considerate way with their waste.
