Plastic bags and Wrapping Collection Trial
We introduced this trial to over 35,000 households to make recycling plastic bags and wrapping easier.
Residents in the trial can collect plastic bags and wrapping in their special blue collection bags and then place the bags inside their recycling bins.
Residents involved can put the following into their special blue collection bags:
- plastic bags
- bread/salad/frozen food/flower bags
- confectionary wrappers
- crisp packets
- plastic film and film lids
- bubble wrap
- fruit nets
If you have been chosen to take part and need more collection bags, you can order plastic bag and wrapping collection bags. They will be posted to your home.
If you are not part of the trial, you can still recycle plastic bags and wrapping by taking them to local supermarkets across Newcastle.
