Green bin: household waste
Your green wheelie bin is for household and non-recyclable items. Bag all waste in black bags, carrier bags, or bin liner bags.
Do not place the following items in your brown bin:
- Recyclable materials
- Refer to our A to Z of recycling guide for details.
- Batteries
- Small electrical items
- Vehicle parts
- Rubble, bricks, building materials, and building waste
- Liquids
- Carpets or furniture
- Items that may make the bin too heavy
- Commercial or trade waste
