Free small electricals collection
We offer a free collection service to recycle unwanted or broken small electrical items. Just follow these steps:
- Place your broken and unwanted small electricals in a plastic carrier bag.
- Book your free small electricals collection online.
- Place your filled plastic carrier bag at your front door before 8am on your collection date.
- Please remove batteries before placing out for collection.
- Do not place any electrical items for collection inside or on top of your bin.
Small electricals we can collect include:

We cannot collect items larger than a plastic carrier bag.
Alternatively, you can drop off your broken or unwanted small electrical items for free in special blue bins at the following locations:
- City Library
- Gosforth Library
- Heaton Community Centre
- Jesmond Library
- Throckley Community Centre
- West End Library
- Westgate College
