What to put in your bins

We introduced this trial to make recycling plastic bags and wrapping easier.

Homes in the trial will get a six month supply of special recycling bags, as shown. 

Residents will put their flexible plastics in these bags and then place the bags in their blue bins. We will empty their blue bin as usual.

The households involved can put the following into their recycling bags:

• Bags
• Confectionary wrappers
• Crisp packets
• Plastic film
• Bubble wrap

If you are not part of the trial, you can still recycle plastic bags and wrapping by taking them to local supermarkets across Newcastle.
