Household waste and recycling centres

We have rules for our sites to ensure visits are as quick, easy, and safe as possible. More rules to those mentioned on other pages are:

• Only Newcastle residents can use our household waste and recycling centres
• Trade waste is not allowed. If you have business rubbish, you will be asked to leave even if you have a permit
• Animals, including pets, are not allowed on site

For safety and to reduce congestion, the following vehicles are not allowed on site:

• Vehicles over 2m high
• Vehicles over 6m long
• Vehicles exceeding 3.5 tonnes
• Trailers exceeding 3m (including the tow bar)
• Dropside vans and tipper/flatbed vans

For the safety and security of visitors and staff, we also have CCTV monitoring in place. This includes site staff wearing body cameras, which record sound and video footage.
