Additional HMO Licensing

Additional HMO Licensing applies to smaller HMOs which are occupied by three or more people in two or more households who share or lack facilities i.e. kitchen, bathroom. All such properties require a licence.

Newcastle has a city wide additional licensing scheme that was designation in April 2020.  This means all HMOs in Newcastle must have an appropriate licence.

From April 2025 there is a new city wide Additional licence scheme.  A copy of the designation can be found below.
