What are Landlord Scratchcards

Landlord Scratchcards are for landlords to visit their properties. They can also be used for viewings by property letting or management agents, or tradesmen brought in by a landlord to work on a property.

Landlord Scratchcards are for those who own but do not live in a property in a permit parking area.

Applying for Landlord Scratchcards

Landlords must show proof they own a property in the parking permit area. You will need to provide proof of ownership documentation.

Accepted proof of ownership documents are:

  • legal papers proving ownership of a home, like a mortgage statement
  • legal papers showing a management agency is in charge of a home, like a contract
  • a current tenancy agreement

You can apply for a Landlord Scratchcard permit online

Please apply up to 14 days before the scratchcards are needed if possible.

After you have applied

You should receive an email within 14 days. Please check your junk/spam folder.

We issue at most 30 Landlord Scratchcards in a 12 month period. The number of scratchcards you can get does not depend on how many properties you own or manage.

Scratchcard costs and payment

The Landlord Scratchcard costs:

  • £20 for the first book of 10 full day permits
  • £40 for the second book of 10 full day permits
  • £80 for the third book of 10 full day permits

The first book of 10 full day permits are issued free of charge for landlords who are accredited with Newcastle City Council via the Fairer Housing Unit.

If you have received approval for scratch cards, you can pay online.
