A City Centre Business permit is for business premises that are within the city centre. See where you need a city centre business permit.

Where you can use your City Centre Business Permit
With your City Centre Business Permit, you can park anywhere in the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). The CPZ is marked in red on the map below.
With the permit, you can park:
- in on-street pay to park bays
- In car park pay to park bays
With the permit, you cannot park:
- in car parks on the edge of the city centre outside the CPZ
- in restricted use bays - such as disabled, taxi, or loading bays - within the CPZ
- in parking bays outside of the CPZ
- in any permit bays in multi-storey car parks or on street permit bays in St. Thomas Crescent, St. Thomas Square or St. Thomas Street
Applying for a permit
This permit is now virtual. You can make a virtual permit account online.
Within this online account you can:
- apply to renew a City Centre Business Permit
- make payments
- manage your account
You can get up to 2 City Centre Business permits per business.
After you apply
You should receive an email within 14 days. Please check your junk/spam folder.
If your application is approved
The email will include a link to pay for your permit. You need to pay within 14 days, or your application may be withdrawn.
If you have not heard from us
Check your junk or spam folders. If you still have not received an email after 14 days, contact us at cityparkpermits@newcastle.gov.uk. Include your reference number in the email
