The Evry partnership, led by Newcastle City Council, continues to create opportunities and improve outcomes for children and young people across Newcastle, and is now encouraging more organisations to get involved and help extend its impact even further.
Since launching in 2022, Evry has delivered significant benefits for children, young people and families across the city, including:
- More than 300 young people taking part in meaningful work experience opportunities.
- Nearly £20,000 worth of Christmas gifts donated by Evry partners and residents.
- More than 7,000 free tickets, valued at over £135,000, shared with children, young people and families.
- 650 young people benefiting from a free travel pass, helping them access education, opportunities and experiences across the city.
Cllr Christine Morrissey, Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Families at Newcastle City Council, said:
"I am delighted to see the incredible impact that Evry has achieved by bringing organisations across Newcastle together to support our children and young people.
"The opportunities created through this partnership have helped thousands of young people access experiences, develop skills, build confidence and celebrate the things that matter most to them.
"We are proud of what has been achieved so far, and we look forward to welcoming more partners and creating even more opportunities for Newcastle's next generation."
Evry was created following a consultation with around 2,000 children and young people aged 0 to 25 from every area of Newcastle. The partnership remains firmly rooted in the voices, experiences and aspirations of young people.
Since its launch, Evry has built a growing network of partners spanning transport, culture, leisure, business, employability, retail, and the voluntary and community sector, all working together to improve opportunities for children and young people across the city.
This year’s annual Evry event, held this week, was all about reaching new organisations interesting in joining the Evry Partnership. 35 organisations based in and around Newcastle attended to find out more and explore how they can get involved.
The partnership focuses on three key priorities:
- Evry Experiences: Increasing access to exciting experiences and events through donated tickets, opportunities and financial support.
- Evry Futures: Supporting young people as they explore employment, education and career opportunities.
- Evry Communities: Helping children, young people and families celebrate the religious and cultural occasions that matter most to them.
The impact of Evry is best reflected in the experiences of the children, young people, families and partners it supports.
One parent who attended The Little Mermaid pantomime said:
"I just want to say thanks so much for the opportunity I got to spend a beautiful magical night with my children. I loved the panto as a little girl and now my children have been able to do the same. We're truly grateful."
Another family who took part in a mascot experience at Newcastle United added:
"First of all, thank you to you and the whole organisation for giving myself and my daughter the experience of a lifetime. Truly grateful to have been selected for such an occasion."
By working together across sectors and listening to the voices of young people, Evry continues to demonstrate the power of a citywide partnership in helping every child thrive.
As Evry enters its fifth year, the partnership is inviting more organisations to join its growing network and help create even more opportunities, experiences and support for children, young people and families.
Organisations interested in becoming an Evry partner are encouraged to get in touch.
