In a heart-warming celebration of community support and local enterprise, Newcastle City Council has proudly announced the winners and runners up in this year’s Small Business Saturday People's Choice Awards.

Throughout the month, thousands voted passionately for their cherished small businesses across five vibrant categories. This initiative aligns with the national campaign's spirit, encouraging local shopping and honouring the backbone of our economy – small businesses.

Crackers4Cheese crowned the overall Winner!

Taking home the grand prize as the overall winner, Crackers4Cheese, renowned for its delectable catering offerings including buffets, grazing displays, bridal brunches, and cheeseboxes, captivated the hearts and taste buds of voters, securing the highest number of accolades.

The winners and runners-up were honoured at a grand ceremony held at the Lord Mayor's Silver Gallery at the Civic Centre on Tuesday 28 November. The city's Lord Mayor Cllr Veronica Dunn, and Cllr Alex Hay Cabinet Member for Thriving City presented trophies to these exceptional businesses, recognising their outstanding contributions to the community.

Commending the remarkable achievement of these businesses, Cllr Alex Hay, expressed heartfelt congratulations: "Small businesses are the heart of our community. Their hard work, dedication, and spirit show what it means to turn dreams into reality. They're more than just shops; they're the threads that weave our neighbourhoods together.
