We have lots of fun crafting, hobby and social activities at our libraries.

You don't need to book ahead for these groups - just come by and join the fun.

Borrowing and playing board games

Our library has a great collection of modern board games you can borrow.

Where to find them:

  • The Gallery, Level 4, City Library 
  • smaller selections at Fenham, Kenton, High Heaton, and Gosforth Libraries

How to borrow them:

  • you must be a library member
  • borrow up to three games at a time for four weeks
  • you can renew games twice, each time for another four weeks
  • reserve and return games at any library

Knitting and crocheting groups

Newcastle Libraries wants you to join our Knit and Crochet network! 

Everyone is welcome and we have supplies you can use. There are many ways to join:

  • put yourself forward to lead a knitting group at the library
  • share your skills and chat with others while making items for charity
  • donate yarn and needles to any Newcastle Libraries branch
  • join a knit and natter group
