What the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is
Welcome to the Newcastle upon Tyne Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA), a statutory responsibility of the Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB).
The information collected here looks at the current population of Newcastle and how we have changed as a city.
The JSNA helps us to better understand the current and potential future needs of our population.
This latest JSNA has been created in collaboration with our Collaborative Newcastle partners in order to paint a full picture of the lives of our residents.
This is an important part of our planning and strategy as a city to help shape, guide, and provide better services to support Newcastle residents collaboratively. It also helps stakeholders and investors understand what services we will need to commission in future to support our residents’ health and wellbeing whilst reducing inequalities.
We have presented this JSNA as interactive reports to allow you look at this information in as flexible manner as possible. This also allows you to have the most up to date information available.
The content of the JSNA is constantly under review and development. As new data and more areas are completed this JSNA will continue to grow. As such the content will change over time.
