Newcastle City Learning is the name of Newcastle City Council’s adult education service.
We offer education and training opportunities for people ages 16 and over. Our offer can be broken down into three distinct categories:
- adult learning
- programmes for young people, aged 16-19 or 25 for those who hold an educations health care plan (EHCP)
- employer responsive courses including apprenticeships
What we do
We help people in Newcastle learn new skills, gain qualifications, build their confidence and get ready for work. We also provide learning to help residents improve their well-being.
We want to be your first choice for adult learning in the city.
Courses for adults
We offer daytime and evening courses to fit around your life. Our teachers are friendly, highly qualified and experienced.
Support for young people
We run an alternative Study Programme for Young People aged 16 and over who need extra support after leaving school. Many learners come from local schools or other education providers. Some have additional needs and may need help to move into further education, apprenticeships or work.
Help for employers
We also work with employers in Newcastle. We offer bespoke training and apprenticeship programmes to help existing staff learn new skills.
