At risk of homelessness
If you are at risk of homelessness or need housing advice contact the Housing Advice Centre (HAC). They will look at your situation and give you confidential advice to try to help you stay in your home or find one that suits your needs.

If you have nowhere to stay tonight, contact the Housing Advice Centre. You can speak to an out of hours call handler when the HAC is closed.
What the Housing Advice Centre can help you with
The Housing Advice Centre can help you understand your options and support you if you're having problems with housing. You can use the service if you’re:
- finding it hard to pay your rent or mortgage
- given notice to leave your home or your tenancy is ending
- struggling to stay in your home and need support
- homeless or facing a housing crisis
If you use the Housing Advice Centre, they will work with you to make a plan to deal with your housing problems. This plan will include steps to help prevent or end homelessness, meet your housing and support needs, and help you build a stable life. We may also work with other organisations that support your household.
They will always try to stop homelessness before it happens. If that’s not possible, they will help you find a safe place to stay.
