In this section there are links to some of the things we know people most commonly need to find on our site. 

It was suggested by the Scrutiny Involvement for Tenants (SIFT) group to make things easier for customers just like them. 

You should also keep your original tenancy agreement handy, as this includes lots of useful information too.

Important information about your new home

Your housing officer will go through a number of things you need to know before you move in.

Find my officer - If you need support and advice to help you manage your tenancy contact your housing support officer. Find the name and contact information for the officer covering where you live.

Moving into your new home - for general information around services available and tips to help you through the process.

Extra support to find and manage your home - this includes information for those who have left the armed forces as well as young people and others who might need a little extra help.

Extra help for vulnerable customers - we have specific accommodation for older and/ or disabled people as well as a telecare service, Ostara, that you might find useful to read about

Home contents insurance - for information about how to help protect your belongings (please note this isn't covered by your rent or included as standard).

Concerns about a neighbour - if you're worried someone might be being abused you can report that to us too. You can contact us if you're being abused yourself and we'll help you.

Supported Housing Services

Additional housing support - from specialist accommodation to property adaptations and equipment, we can offer you safety and peace of mind whilst maintaining your freedom and independence in day-to-day life.

Employment support - if you're a council tenant, our Employability team can offer a wide range of support to help you find employment.

Additional Services

Furniture rental (NFS) - Our Newcastle Furniture Service (NFS) provides high quality products for a small weekly rental fee. The service can be paid for by Housing Benefit and Universal Credit. Permanent rental items are replaced after 4 years and all repairs and maintenance are carried out at no extra charge by our experienced and dedicated team.

Palatine Beds - Palatine Beds has manufactured high quality mattresses and bases for generations. We are proud of our rich heritage and can guarantee that our mattresses and bases are comfortable, durable and competitively priced.

Ostara - Telecare can help you to live independently and safely in your own home. There are a wide range of telecare servies available.
