Selling a rental property

Once you have a fixed completion date for selling the property, please advise us within 21 days of the change taking place. This helps make sure that you are not charged unnecessary council tax and allows us to quickly issue a correct bill.

Please ensure that the information provided is accurate. Providing false, misleading or incorrect details may result in you having to pay more council tax than necessary and may delay a new bill being issued.

To tell us you are selling a property you will need to provide the following:

• your full name and correspondence address
• your contact details
• full address of the property that has been sold
• provide the sale completion date, plus the names of the solicitors involved in the sale
• if possible, a copy of the sale completion statement
• full names of the new owners if known
