Nomination papers
Nomination papers will be available to download from the Electoral Commission Resources for Candidates or can be supplied by Electoral Services from Monday 2 March 2026.

You must do everything you can to check that you are not disqualified before submitting your nomination paper.
If you are in any doubt, you should contact your employer, consult the legislation or, if necessary, take your own independent legal advice.
The Returning Officer will not be able to confirm whether you are disqualified or not and will not question or investigate the validity of your qualification(s). It is your responsibility to complete the nomination forms accurately and honestly.
It is a criminal offence to make a false statement on a nomination paper.
Nomination period
Nominations can be submitted on any working day from Tuesday 24 March to Thursday 9 April 2026. An appointment must be made with Electoral Services to hand in your nomination paper.

Nominations must be hand delivered to Electoral Services by either you or your election agent.
Nomination papers cannot be submitted by post, e-mail or other electronic means.
Electoral Services will carry out an informal check on your paper before it is formally submitted.
The close of nominations is strictly 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026.
