Ward committee funding

Funding for smaller projects or events which focus on specific neighbourhoods or up to four council ward areas.

How much ward committee funding you can apply for

The minimum amount you can apply for is £150. This amount can be divided between up to four wards.

Individual ward committees may set a maximum amount that they will give to a single application. The amount they can give also depends on how much remains in their budgets when they consider your application. Note the total yearly ward budgets below when you consider how much to apply for.

Which wards to apply to

You can apply to up to four ward committees in each application. You should apply to the wards where most of the people who will benefit live.

This may be different to where your organisation is based. Citywide or national organisations can apply, as long as your project specifically benefits people who live in up to four wards.

The amount you apply for from each ward should be proportionate to the number of people benefitting in each ward. (For example, if 50% of people benefitting live in one ward, apply for 50% of funding from this ward.)

You can use our postcode checker to find out which postcodes belong to which wards.
