Voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations (VCSEs)

Funding is available to support projects and events for VCSEs in Newcastle.

The Newcastle Fund offers grants of up to £25,000 for projects delivered by VCSEs in Newcastle.

The North East Community Forest is creating liveable, sustainable communities. They are also helping to tackle climate change and biodiversity collapse. They also support the regeneration of communities and provide relaxation and leisure opportunities.

Our Environmental and Climate Intentions - The Climate Foundation

Offers grants of up to £10,000 to organisations that are looking after or enhancing the environment. Example activities include re-wilding programmes, recycling and repurposing projects, raising awareness and improving the energy efficiency of a building. The deadline to apply is 31st March 2025

Energy Redress Fund - Ofgem/Energy Saving Trust 

Offers grants of up to £50,000 for the installation of energy saving or renewable energy measures.

Northern Powergrid Fund - Northern Powergrid Foundation

Offers grants of up to £20,000 for energy resilience initiatives, reducing fuel poverty and preparing future networks.

Funding for Places - The Wolfson Foundation

Offers grants of up to £75,000 towards capital projects that improve the organisations building, service quality and financial stability.

Postcode Neighbourhood Trust - People's Postcode Trust

Offers grants of up to £25,000 to projects which improve biodiversity, respond to the climate emergency or improve green spaces. 

Rolling Grants Programme - Steel Charitable Trust

Offers grants of up to £25,000 for measures that improve an organisations carbon footprint.

Business Improvement Grants - Benefact Trust

Offers grants of up to £25,000 to Christian charities and churches to support direct capital relating to energy efficiency or renewable energy projects.

Main Grants Scheme - Foyle Foundation 

Offers grants of up to £75,000 for capital works which have reached RIBA Stage 3 to charities with a core remit of arts or learning. The deadline to apply is 31st January 2025.
