Business Improvement District (BID)

The person or company entitled to possession of a non domestic property is liable to pay the BID. 

This will usually be:

• the leaseholder
• the owner
• the occupier of the property

BIDs are payable on both occupied and empty properties.

Before the start of each financial year we will send a BID levy bill on behalf of the BID company. 

Businesses must pay the BID levy to Newcastle City Council on 1 April each year. 

For new occupiers the BID levy is due within 14 days of receiving the BID invoice.
