An NIHR-funded placement has led to published research that is informing safeguarding practice, influencing policy, training and professional development to better protect adults at risk of exploitation.
HDRC Newcastle brought together researchers and Newcastle City Council to explore the Council’s Public Health Areas of Research Interest, generating strong interest in collaboration and supporting the use of research in local decision making.
A public and VCSE engagement workshop has produced nine recommendations to guide the use of Newcastle City Council data in research, helping HDRC Newcastle strengthen transparency, trust and community impact in efforts to tackle health inequalities.
